Strategy

It has been said that strategy is the art of exploiting opportunities, something Evette does very well. Taught, by her father to play the game of chess at the age of 5, the idea of making decisions with a limited set of options in a dynamic environment excites her. It’s no surprise that when deciding on what subject to concentrate on in business school, she chose corporate strategy. A lover of game theory and an avid reader on the topic, she uses strategy in her career and as a leader on the non-profit boards and other organizations that she is involved with.

Real Estate

Exposed to the real estate field at a very young age, Evette loves everything pertaining to real estate. At the age of 14, Evette was an intern at a leading Detroit real estate development firm where she watched as blue prints became buildings.

Eventually she received more responsibility and worked first hand on the acquisition and asset management of multi-million dollar developments. While still in undergrad Evette became a licensed real estate agent and has been active in the Metro Detroit real estate market. She has advised clients on purchase, sell, and leasing deals. Her client profile includes other professionals looking to relocate downtown, blossoming families looking to expand, professional athletes, and empty nesters looking to sell and downsize. She hopes to expand her real estate involvement to commercial real estate development and real estate private equity.

Philanthropy

Evette firmly believes that above all else we are all here to improve the world, and she takes this responsibility very seriously. She tells people “the obstacle you’ve struggled with the most is the very problem you were placed here to fix”. Evette not only gives monetarily but also with time. She is involved with many non-profits and foundations including:

  • Boys Hope Girls Hope
  • Imagine Mentoring Program
  • Alternative for Girls
  • Braylon Edwards Foundation

She also speaks regularly to high school students on college readiness, serves as a mentor, and teaches etiquette to young, inner-city girls. With each personal and professional achievement, Evette hopes to increase the capacity and impact of her philanthropic endeavors.
